Recognizing Sporting Excellence
The East Hants Sport Heritage Society became incorporated with the province of Nova Scotia on October 13, 2013. Since then, the society has undertaken several community initiatives.
On November 8, 2014, the first Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held. It was a tremendous success with a sell-out crowd of over 300 in attendance. Following the successful Hall of Fame induction, the Society focused on the second part of their mandate, to recognize local present day athletes through the East Hants Sport Awards. The first East Hants Sport Awards ceremony was held on April 26, 2015 with over 275 people were in attendance. Similarly to the Hall of Fame, there was a tremendous amount of positive feedback from the event. These two events continue to run annually to recognize these important contributions to sport.
